While I’m super excited for Rohit Shetty’s OTT debut with Indian Police Force, here’s another announcement which looks so interesting. Shetty is set to direct a biopic on former commissioner of Police, Rakesh Saria.
Rohit Shetty shared the news on Instagram and wrote that,
“From solving the 93 Mumbai blast case, fearlessly facing the Mumbai underworld during the late 90s, to interrogating the lone surviving terrorist, Ajmal Kasab & standing strong for his city during the 26/11 attacks…Rakesh Maria has been a name synonymous with courage and valour! Feel honoured to be bringing this real life supercop’s journey to screen!”

Maria had also solved the 2003 Gateway Of India and Zaveri Bazaar, twin blast case.
Reacting on this, Rakesh Maria said,
“It is exciting to re-live the journey, especially when piloted by a brilliant director like Rohit Shetty. More than the nostalgia, it’s also a valuable opportunity to place before the people the extraordinary work of the Mumbai Police when facing tough challenges and working against all odds.”
What I await now is to find out who will be essaying the role of Maria since the film can be expected to trace his entire journey. He cleared Civil Examination in the 1981 batch, so the film would also maybe showcase his younger days and his life in full circle. While we can keep guessing and perhaps also thinking who would suit to play his role, let’s hold our horses to find out, who is cast in this film.
