Gone are the times when the reach of cinema was restricted by language. Today, there is no barrier as such and it shows in the fact that I loved watching RRR as much as I loved watching Gangubai Kathiawadi. Pan-Indian films have become the new norm and the recent success of RRR shows that the trend is here to stay. Another such film that crossed the language barrier and made a place in my heart is Prashanth Neel’s K.G.F, and I had been waiting eagerly for its sequel. Now that the high on action trailer of K.G.F: Chapter 2 has been released, that excitement has just doubled up.
Check out the trailer here:
The first instalment of the series focused on Rocky, a high ranking assassin in Mumbai born in poverty, who poses as a slave-laborer in a company aiming to assassinate a billionaire gold smuggler. At the end of K.G.F: Chapter 1, Rocky had killed Garuda and had become the saviour of the slaves in KGF, but now in Chapter 2, he will have to face his biggest foe Adheera while also coming to terms with new developments from his past and the trailer has brought that out beautifully.
In an adrenaline pumping trailer, the film is promising much more action and violence as the fight to gather control of KGF intensifies. Yash is completely in his element in the trailer and as cool as he seems while delivering his dialogues, his intensity in the action scenes just sent shivers down my spine. Raveena Tandon as a politician just held my attention in every frame she was in and I couldn’t take my eyes off her, but it is Sanjay Dutt who sent chills throughput my body with his appearance and when he came into action, I couldn’t help but feel scared and impressed at the same time.
K.G.F: Chapter 2 also features Srinidhi Shetty and Prakash Raj, and is written and directed by Prashanth. It is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the Hombale Films banner and is eyeing a theatrical release on April 14, 2022 in Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam.
